What We Do

Around the Table

You will find a lot of tables around our space. All of them encourage connecting.

  • Around the communion or Lord’s Table, the Lord connects to us and nurtures us in our faith, hope, and love.

  • In our Session room, our elders meet to dialogue prayerfully with one another to discern what God wants from us and then deliberate on how to respond.

  • In our other rooms are tables where we eat and learn together.

  • Outside are tables to which we invite our surrounding neighbors to come and be both fed and enjoy fellowship.

In the Community

Our congregation is moving beyond a scarcity mentality to one of abundant hospitality. We want to extend all of our tables into the Lima community so that we can encompass interested neighbors all around us.

This will mean getting to know our neighbors, befriending them, and learning from them how we might best practice our witness to Jesus Christ and his hospitality. Maybe you can help us by guiding us? We know we are gifted to be in a person-to-person ministry and your personal input would be helpful.

“Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself at a place near your altar, Lord Almighty (Psalm 84:3).” We are home to many of God’s creatures.

“Seek first the Realm of God and its right relationships . . . justice, mercy, and faith.”

— Jesus (Matthew 6:33; 23:23)

With You

We know that if (or when) you visit, you will come with hopes and expectations. Below are some of the ways in which we might support you. Please keep in mind that we are small enough to work personally with you to support your various callings in the world.

  • We can serve you the sacraments so you can experience the Living Christ within and around you.

  • We can visit you at the hospital or at home, at your request.

  • We can share sermons that inspire you and speak to your personal situation.

  • We can teach you spiritual disciplines that bring healing and inner transformation, impacting your relationships positively.

  • We can invite you to give your input as we seek to discern God’s will for our congregation.

  • We can take your suggestions and try to create experiences that will strengthen you and your loved ones for God’s service.

  • We can listen to you and help you find the higher purpose to which God may be calling you.
